Discover MoreParco della Maremma
Province: Grosseto
The regional Natural Park of Maremma was created in 1975 but despite its small dimensions (about 10,000 hectares) and the few years it's been in existence, in a short time it has become a point of reference for an ever growing number of people. In 1993 it was presented with the Diploma of European Parks granted by the European Council. A visit to the Park will definitely be a pleasant and formative experience, but it’s good to remember that a single visit could disappoint expectations, which are often too large in relation to the real possibilities offered by the short time available. We have to remember that it is not a zoo, the animals are free and are not there at our disposal. You can only visit the park on foot, and there are only two entrances to the itineraries: Alberese and Talamone.
For the itineraries which leave from Alberese, for which you can find a brief description, the access is usually possible on Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays. However, for information about times and how to visit we recommend that you contact the Park’s Visitor Centre.
